Why

To give notification that registration is open. This email will follow the notice of new service email. It highlights:

  • a different way to sign in to the service and the need for a DfE sign-in account
  • the need to confirm the induction tutor for the academic year

Registration for early career teachers and mentors open for academic year 2026-2027

Hello ((sit_name)),

We’re sending you this email as our records show that you’re the induction tutor for ((school_name)).

You can now register early career teachers (ECTs) and mentors for the 2026-2027 academic year with register early career teachers.

To use the service you’ll need:

  • a DfE Sign-in account
  • approved access to the service

DfE Sign-in account and service access

DfE Sign-in is a single sign-on service that provides access to DfE services. Your school might already use it for other DfE services and you might already have a DfE Sign-in account.

If you do not have a DfE Sign-in account, you can create one.

If you do not have access to the service, you can request it from your school or organisation’s approver using your DfE Sign-in account.

Confirm your school’s induction tutor for the 2026-2027 academic year

We’ll ask you to confirm your school’s induction tutor when you use the service to register ECTs and mentors for the first time.
